Convert PDF to Markdown for free

This tool extracts document text and adds page markers. It does not recreate complex tables, images or mathematical typesetting. Image-only pages use OCR, whose text should be checked before reuse.

  1. Upload a PDF or supported text document. Choose English or Simplified Chinese for scans.
  2. Create Markdown from the extracted text and inspect its page markers.
  3. Correct headings or recognition errors, then copy or download the edited text.

Free access and limits

No account or payment. One document up to 4 MB, 10 PDF pages and 60,000 extracted characters. Original source tools run on our server without a generative model.

Optional AI summaries and questions use the configured provider displayed before processing. Free AI accepts up to 32,000 UTF-8 source bytes and 3 requests per network per UTC day, subject to a shared site budget and availability. Shared networks share an allowance.

Before AI processing, you must consent to send extracted text and your question to the provider. AI results and OCR can contain errors.
