Follow these steps

  1. Choose HEIC photos from your device. HEIC to JPG changes the file format; renaming a file extension does not convert it.
  2. Set the output width and quality. JPG has no transparency, so choose a suitable background if necessary.
  3. Convert and download the JPG outputs or ZIP. Open one image to confirm its size, orientation and appearance.

Example: prepare an iPhone photo for a form

Choose a HEIC photo you own and open HEIC to JPG. Check the current upload limit before selecting it. If your device exported a JPG already, use that file directly instead of changing its extension to HEIC.

Choose dimensions appropriate to the destination. For example, a form that asks for an image no wider than 1600 pixels needs a resize as well as a format conversion. Select JPG quality, convert, and inspect the result at normal size.

JPG does not support transparency and compression can lose fine detail. Conversion here is for a still image; do not assume that Live Photo motion, HDR appearance or all camera metadata will be preserved. Keep the source for archiving.

Check your result

  • The JPG opens in the destination app and has the required dimensions.
  • Check orientation, faces, small text and bright areas against the original.
  • Confirm file size after conversion; a format change alone does not guarantee a smaller file.

Common questions

Can I just rename .heic to .jpg?

No. Renaming changes the filename but leaves the encoded image unchanged. Use a converter that decodes the input and writes JPG.

Can I convert back to HEIC here?

HEIC output is not published on this host. Use one of the supported output formats shown by the tool.
